Key Issue Four

The fourth question written on Mr. Schicks board given to us at the beginning of the unit asks the question, why do migrants face challenges? We were given a chapter out of the textbook and were told to highlight the main points of this article and then translate it into this blog. The first subtitle Is called, 'Government Immigration Policies'. This section explains the four different policies a certain government has about their country. The four policies are: maintain the current level of immigration, increase the level, decrease the level, or there is no policy. We are one of the 32 countries in the world that want to reduce levels of immigration. The second subtitle that I though had important information was called Unauthorized Immigration. Unauthorized immigrants are immigrants that enter a country without legal or proper documents. This section talked about all the different controversial name titles for unauthorized immigrants, and then went into talking about the different types of people that are unauthorized immigrants. There were multiple names such as, undocumented immigrant and illegal aliens. Along with these two subtitles, there were also problems immigrants had to face such as the quota laws and border issues.
